Amadeus: the Chamber Choir

Repertoire
Our repertoire covers probably five hundred years, and includes sacred and secular works.

We are not a “wedding choir” as such, although we have sung at weddings for families and friends of the choir - as well as on a commercial basis for people who have asked. For any wedding we do, we discuss the options and choices with the Bride and Groom.
More information about weddings here.

For a Cathedral service we have repertoire for Eucharist, Matins and Evensong, ranging from the English and Italian Renaissance eras, through German Baroque and the Victorian period, to modern settings composed specifically for us.

A typical charity concert will include:
  • English madrigals from the 16th Century
  • European sacred music from the 16th through to the 20th Centuries
  • Arrangements of songs by The Beatles, Abba or The Beach Boys (for example)
  • Arrangements of Broadway songs
  • Compositions and arrangements made for us by Geoffrey Murdin
We have music in several languages:
  • English
  • French
  • German
  • Spanish
  • Italian
  • Latin
  • Russian
  • Hebrew
  • and we have sung in Japanese and Korean, but neither regularly, nor very proficiently!
